Fabulous post as usual Zach! I totally agree that children’s literature should connect with children by appealing to their already sharp intellect, not by dumbing them down and essentially degrading them through writing. I think C. S. Lewis had a pretty good handle on connecting with kids by engaging them in an intelligent manner.
